Real Estate: They're not making any more of it ... because they already made too much of it.

"disappearance of buyers for new condos." Oh please. Just price them correctly and the buyers will come. All this 2007 pricing is soooo 2007!

Negative media is what brought about a collapse. The real deal sucks. They do not represent the market in NY. Just looking to make headlines by writing negative articles. Manhattan's market is booming again and there are no ghost towers in NY. deals are closing every day in new construction because the lender are approving building case by case. The real deal stopped reporting news. They are just reporting headlines. Sucks.

#5. The collapse was caused by greed - greed from institutional investors seeking higher yields, rating agencies abusing their rubber stamps, and Wall Street brokers who wanted fatter commissions. Sure, the media had something to do with it (i.e. Flip This House), but it was really just a minor player in this mess.

Another media hatchet job! Fox Business News? Nobody watches it yet Real Deal will gladly give it more exposure than it deserves. Really? An interview in a bar? We are to take this seriously? Where are all of these ghost towers in Manhattan south of 96th St? There are a few. Compared to the total inventory of apartments in Manhattan they are a precious few. There is NO comparison to Miami and Las Vegas. This is another example of Real Deal's descent into becoming the New York Post of real estate. I used to have a lot of respect for this periodical, but no more.

#9, the Ghost Tower list is in the June issue of The Real Deal, which is also available online. Just hit Magazine button on the top navigation bar. #5, you don't seem to be too bright.

If you don't believe there are ghost towers in NYC, then you don't know anything and after the rest of the construction in the city which is in process now is over, there is going to be a lot more of them.

TRD - why are you fighting me? Accept your mistakes and move on. You removed the link from the front page, then you removed the comments section from the jump...you are leaving a bad impression. 70% contracts signed not 70% occupied for Freddie & Fannie mortgages which is contrary to Jill's comments during the lovely interview.

if we do have ghost towers, shouldn't someone call the ghostbusters?
