Management group to donate 1% of revenue

Mascia Management, a small property management firm specializing in buildings containing 30 or fewer units, has announced that it will be donating 1 percent of its annual revenue to environmental causes. President and CEO Mark Mascia said that the move is in line with his company's eco-friendly mission.

"We're trying to be the greenest management company around," Mascia said. "From the very beginning we've been very committed… to associating ourselves with service providers who are green."

Mascia said that his company wants to focus on smaller initiatives in fields like renewable green energy in both New York City and beyond.

While his group generally deals with smaller buildings, Mascia says it's actually easier for property managers at larger buildings to implement green initiatives because they typically have a larger pool of capital to use for building changes.

The management group plans to continue the donation process indefinitely, making contributions on a yearly basis.
