Marketing wunderkind Michael Shvo, who has been off the radar for a while, celebrated his 37th birthday at Abe & Arthur's restaurant last night with a party of 15 including real estate developer Charles Yassky and restaurateur Daniel Boulud, according to sources. Other attendees at the Meatpacking District gathering included Rory Tahari, vice chairman of clothing designer Elie Tahari, and hospitality designer Adam Tihany (note: correction appended). Reports say that singer John Legend was at the neighboring table. Shvo was not immediately available for comment and representatives from Abe & Arthur's declined to comment. TRD

This is sickening. We have foreclosures going on all around, commercial real estate loans are about to tumble and all you can do is comment about some refugee from Israel that has done little to improve any part of the market in this city. He is an arrogant low life almost at the same level as Madoff. Please report something worth reading

#12 he is being sued left and right, hardly the definition most people attach to the term "successful". That being said, why does TRD consider this news ?

Jealous
All you people are simply jealous of Michael Shvo. No one is yet to answer how a marketer, who gets paid flat fee and commissions can be "broke." Knowledgable guestimates put Sir Shvo @ $75-$100MM in cash he's sitting on.

I seen Michael Shvo on the night before his birthday bash- his private Boeing Business Jet had landed next to mine over at Tetersboros airport in New Jersey. He unloaded the plane, and I counted 76 GUYS and 3 women, who looked like they were working as attendants on the flight. We asked some of the men what the occasion was and they told me it was their pals birthday bash, and they flew back from Mykonos after spending over 2 million USD $$$ on champagne alone.

It's also worth noting that Shvo has been out and about in the Meatpacking District this year- where he has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on champagne that he sprays all over his buddies at nightclubs. This guy is far from broke

If i'm not mistaken, I believe this is the same real estate mogul that was "boasting" about how he was able to get an entire Hummer limousine filled with guys into TenJune because he's so well connected. Someone said he had over 50 guys in his limo.

Again, money does NOT beget class. Acting in suck a manner is typical for those not used to proper manners and social etiquette. Limos, private planes, etc., all speak of a very pretentious lifestyle. Trying to impress is not, in itself, impressive...being humble is...this clown is a fool. GO BACK TO ISRAEL!!! Obvious here where his "lovers" are from...ruin your own country, not ours!!!

Shvo really cracks me up. I thought he was making a killing in Dubai. Yeah, I believed that for a fraction of a second. They just LOVE Israelis in Dubai, unless of course they are pimps. Oh wait a minute... Isn't the economy of Dubai tanking. Wow, wherever Shvo shows up the market tanks. Yes, brilliant businessman that he is... Ma Nishma Shvo? You pissed off so many other brokers do you really think anyone will have anything to do with you? His behavior in the clubs? come on, we have all learned in the last 10 years how much you can get with a line of credit. I would LOVE to be there when he has to pay the piper. Gay Kacken Affen Yam Shvo. You make great entertainment.

Teterboros? Comment #16 was DEFINITELY not posted by a native English speaker. Oops! That's right sorry Shvo, take some grammer classes or at least some classes to lose your accent for a start.

Of course the articles about Shvo are in the top 1% read! Everyone LOVES a trainwreck as well as unethical and illegal sleeze! The National Enquirer and other such publications are the top read in the country. Shvo (doesn't that mean "he returned" in Hebrew, kind of like a bad penny) is the king of everything yukky. He sits "out of sight". Of course - hiding from the law.

Give this guy a break, we all had our good times up-to 2009 and let’s be honest, the bucks were easy and we partied-hard. Now the good times are over, in NY, Miami and Dubai the best have been humbled and we have to (once again) work-hard for our fortunes. Let us focus on moving the buzz to positive awareness of our industry and too the many fine career professionals that work-hard to build their enterprise, you and they are the future.

I saw Shvo moving into his new office over at the Peter Coopers Village - he has started a position there as a leasing consultant. He will be leasing units at both Peters Coopers and at Stuy Town apartments. He is marketing these as the best priced low end luxury units in the city and i am sure he will do very well with this project and property.

As a former employee of Shvo I find it amusing to check his status on google every six months or so. Michael is relentlessly entertaining, and I see he is still at it. Well, since his reputation, both personally and professionally, got flushed down the toilet some time ago, I cannot imagine who is now doing business with him. Michael renting private jets and sitting on $100 million? Uhhh...I don't think so. But I say to you, Michael, you always loved to play the role of James Bond, so go for it and enjoy every minute of it. But I always thought you missed your true calling - the theater. If not as an actor then certainly as a producer (it's not too late, by the way, so think it over...). Michael, look again at Altman's movie, The Player. The Tim Robbins character is you in every way, Michael, and that is both an insult and a compliment.
