Moinian misses $90M loan payment

Joseph Moinian

The roster of Joseph Moinian's unpaid loans grew one larger this week. The embattled developer failed to pay $90 million to lenders, according to Crain's, for a loan on a luxury building downtown. The loan for the building, Ocean Residences at 17 Battery Park South, has been transferred to a special servicer, real estate debt tracking group Trepp reported. This news comes on the heels of increasingly frequent financial woes for Moinian, who missed payments on two other properties this summer: 17 Battery Park North and 180 Maiden Lane. [Crain's]

Moinian is NOT a Rothschild. We Rothschild's own the dollar, pound, euro, and every other currency except a few. Hahaha, we win

what's the vitriol? Look at him. Would he rob a grave for a pot of gold? I'd say yes.

Vitrol? He squeezes every dollar out of his building, reinvests nothing, doesn't pay brokers or his bills, runs his buildings into the ground.

None of you should get too excited about a foreclosure here... this property is doing very well. Joe just wants an extension because current refi terms are pretty onerous. He's really gotten used to the 4.8% rate on this loan versus the current market of ~7%.

if that is true 14, then he is an even bigger dirtbag. You make a deal, you stick with it. Why would any bank work with this POS?

it's the old story - he screwed a lot of people on the way up, so now he has to get kicked by them on the way down - and #12 is an idiot
