Former piano factory becomes condos
The landmark Sohmer Piano Factory in Long Island City has been converted into a 69-unit condominium. The building, at 31-01 Vernon Boulevard at 31st Avenue, has studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, ranging from 412 to 1,692 square feet. The apartment prices are between $270,000 and $1.44 million. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, screening room, pet spa, storage and parking. Prudential Douglas Elliman is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for the project.

16 condos to be auctioned at the Aristocrat in Weehawken
Sixteen one- and two-bedroom condos at the Aristocrat in Weehawken, N.J. will be auctioned off on April 19. The condos will be sold with a five-year tax abatement, and suggested opening bids are $150,000. The auction for the condos, at 34-48th Street at Bouleavard East, will be at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City.

Construction to start this spring at Monticello redevelopment project
The first phase of construction is slated to begin this spring at developer Whiton Street Associates' Monticello redevelopment project, a $30 million mixed-use development at the north end of Monticello Avenue in Jersey City. The development calls for 120 rental apartments, 25,000 square feet of retail space and 170 indoor parking spots. The apartments will have one or two bedrooms, with square footage ranging from 750 to 1,200, and monthly rents of $600 to $1,700. Phase one is expected to be completed in 2010. TRD
