Openings and closings: Phaidon opens, YSL closes ... and more

After 41 years of business, Yves Saint Laurent will be closing its shop at 855 Madison Avenue on the corner of 71st Street. The shop was YSL's first foreign location. The store will move its remaining merchandise to the 57th Street location.
In Tribeca, MaryAnn's Mexican-style eatery is rumored to be coming to the space at the corner of Greenwich and Harrison streets.
In Soho, art book publisher Phaidon has opened a temporary shop at 100 Wooster Street between Prince and Spring streets.
In Alphabet City, Sigmund Pretzel Shop has opened at 29 Avenue B on the corner of East 3rd Street.
In Herald Square, Desigual has signed a lease for the old Baker Shoes space at 362 Fifth Avenue on the corner of 34th Street.
In Brooklyn, Brooklyn Junior has opened at 150 Clinton Avenue near Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill. A new coffee place called Kohzee Cafe is going to open at 396 Sixth Avenue in Park Slope. Union Market at 288 Court Street in Carroll Gardens may open by the end of the year.
