Clockwise, from top left: Cedar Tavern, Day-O, La Bagel Delight and Otto Tootsi Plohound

The Cedar Tavern won't be returning to its location at 82 University Place, and the space will be used for retail, according to Prudential Douglas Elliman managing director Tamir Shemesh, who is selling the apartments in the building. The 10 month-old Bar Q on Bleecker Street in the West Village is closing. The landlord will repossess Day-O restaurant at 103 Greenwich Street, which closed in January 2008. Retailer Otto Tootsi Plohound, at 137 Fifth Avenue at East 20th Street, has closed. La Bagel Delight, on the corner of Fifth Street and Seventh Avenue in Park Slope, is moving down the block around March 1. Finally, LeNell's at 416 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook will close Sunday. I lived around the corner from Bar Q on Bleeker for the 10 months it was in business---it didnt take a recession for that place to close. It just sucked.
