Two cooperative apartments in the Rosario Candela-designed 995 Fifth Avenue have sold, one setting a record in the refurbished building at the corner of 81st Street and Central Park.
An 11th floor unit sold for $14.1 million to Matthew B. McLennan, and an eighth-floor unit sold for $12.5 million to a buyer identified as Lily King LLC.
The price for the McLennan apartment was the most expensive to date in the former Stanhope Hotel, which reopened for occupancy earlier this year. Both units were sold by the developer.
The McLennan unit closed on July 18 and the other closed on August 8, according to city records published this week.
Far more expensive units have yet to close. The 7,067-square-foot, five-bedroom penthouse, listed for $47.5 million, is in contract, according to the Corcoran Group Web site.
