Walentas' Williamsburg hotel plan rejected

An initial plan for a hotel on North 11th Street in Williamsburg by the Walentas family's Two Trees Management has been rejected by the Department of Buildings. The $3.6-million project would convert an industrial building to a hotel, doubling the brick building's height. Some residents say hotels don't belong in the residential and industrial neighborhood. But a spokesman for Hotel Le Jolie, a hotel in Williamsburg near the BQE, said the boutique hotel is filling 85 percent of its 54 rooms every night.
