The Post reports that Lower Manhattan could get its first Apple store, if serious talks over a 12,500-foot building at 23 Wall Street are successful. The vacant building at Broad Street, known as "The Corner," was developed in 1914 by financier J.P. Morgan and served as his headquarters. The building is connected to a residential condominium at 15 Broad Street, which has a Hermes shop. The owners, Africa-Israel, hired Robert K. Futterman & Associates to handle retail leasing for 180,000 square feet at 15 Broad Street and 23 Wall Street. Meanwhile, at 14 Wall Street, the denim store True Religion has taken 700 square feet for an asking rent of $700 per square foot. The building is owned by Josh Zamir and the Carlyle Group. [Post]
