Laurel, at 400 East 67th Street
A construction worker fell to his death today at the Laurel, a project at 400 East 67th Street, near First Avenue. The man, in his 30s, fell from the 21st floor to the 14th floor. Authorities say part of his safety harness broke. The Alexico Group is developing the Laurel, which is slated to open in January with 129 apartments, an indoor pool, 14,000 square feet of retail and office space. Costas Kondylis & Partners designed the building, and the construction manager is the Hunter Roberts Construction Group, which is working on several big projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn. [NYT]
