U.S. Olympic chief: No stadium, no games

U.S. Olympic Committee Chairman Peter Ueberroth warned in a May 5 letter that New York City will lose any chance of holding the 2012 Summer Games if a proposed West Side stadium isn’t approved before the host city is selected. He also put the blame for holding up the stadium on Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno. But the two weren’t letting up on Gov. George Pataki, as they grilled him yet again Thursday in a detailed list of questions about the project. more [Daily News]
