Mayor: State will approve stadium

Facing a crucial vote this week on a proposed West Side stadium, Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he’s optimistic Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver will see the benefits of the project, despite his current opposition. But the proposed stadium’s $2.2 billion price tag and the intricacies of the taxpayer subsidies for as much as half of that figure are stalling the plan’s approval in Albany because legislative leaders say the deal being pushed by Gov.
