City gets second chance with Olympics

The International Olympic Committee will let New York address the lack of an Olympic-sized stadium, a major obstacle to the city hosting the 2012 summer Games. When the West Side stadium proposal disappeared earlier this week, New York’s hopes of hosting the Games went with it, by and large: A report from the Olympic committee released June 6 gave the city a favorable review, but cited the lack of a stadium as a potential deal-breaker.
