NYC Olympic hopes fading

With less than four weeks until the International Olympic Committee picks the host city for the 2012 summer Games, the chances of that city being New York continue to dwindle. A sort of Plan B in the wake of the defeat in early June of public funding for a proposed West Side stadium is being floated before the committee, beginning this week. Shea Stadium in Queens is a possible substitute for the failed stadium in any last-minute attempt to lure the Games. more [Daily News]
