Atlantic Yards approval near

December 20, 2006 12:00AM

It looks as though developer Bruce Ratner’s Atlantic Yards project will be approved today after all. State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is set to give the $4-billion project his approval when it comes before the Public Authorities Control Board later today. Silver is one of three members of the obscure, but important, board, along with Governor George Pataki and Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, both of whom are known Yards supporters. A Silver spokesperson confirmed to The Real Deal that “if the Atlantic Yards project is on the agenda today as a clean item, we will vote in favor of it.” more [NYP]
