School’s in for real estate pros

Applicants for Real Estate Salesperson licenses in New York State will have to hit the books — or their computer screens — for a longer time when a new curriculum goes into effect next July. A bill that passed the Legislature late last year raised the requirement for coursework leading up to the qualifying examination from 45 to 75 hours, leaving the Department of State scrambling to develop and approve new curriculum additions by the end of summer, said Joe Amello, the department’s director of licensing. more By Marc Ferris
