Garment District office building sells for $29 million

A 12-story, 82,000-square-foot office building at 29 West 36th Street has been sold for $29 million. The Garment District building, built in 1930, will be refitted with new elevator systems and a card key access system before re-opening. Eastern Consolidated’s Brian Ezratty, vice chairman, and Scott Ellard, vice president for financial services, represented the seller, while Ezratty was the buyer’s agent as well. The building will cater to tenants looking for lower rents than the Plaza District, Ellard said in a statement. The buyer was Broadway 36th Realty LLC, and the seller was Celmons Management, which bought the building back in 1969. TRD
