A crane inspector who heads the city Department of Building’s emergency response team has been suspended for allegedly ignoring complaints about corruption in crane licensing. Acting Buildings Commissioner Robert LiMandri said Michael Carbone had been suspended. The news follows the month’s arrest of the city’s top crane inspector, James Delayo, on charges of allegedly taking more than $10,000 in bribes to fake inspection reports and overlook unqualified operators.
