Brooklyn runs on Dunkin

A study from the Center for an Urban Future has found that moderately-priced chains outnumber more expensive outlets in Brooklyn, a trend that director Jonathan Bowles attributes to a “different shopping culture” that emphasizes affordability. The study found that there are 89 Dunkin Donuts and only 18 Starbucks in the borough (Manhattan has 186 Starbucks). Brooklyn also has the most 7-Elevens, KFCs, Popeyes fried chicken stores and Payless ShoeSource locations in the city.
