In the latest scale-back to the Brooklyn Bridge Park project, it was announced that original plans for pedestrian walkways jutting into the East River have been scrapped. The announcement came during a public presentation Tuesday, where rumors were dispelled that the park’s construction would be delayed by five years. Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation President Regina Myer did say, however, that there is only enough funding to finish 66 percent of the project in the next four to six years. A 2002 schedule for the 85-acre development had a completion date of 2012 with a $150 million budget.
