Most of the homes in Stone Harbor, a small town on Seven Mile Island, off the coast of New Jersey, are second homes. Many of the houses date back to the early 1900s — though locals debate whether they started as workers’ housing or holiday homes — and the average price is $2.5 million, with small cottages usually going for $700,000 to $900,000.
