The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council was selected to run an artists’ studio and exhibition space on Governors Island. The 14,000-square-foot arts center, called Building 110, will be located on the island’s north shore. The president of the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corp., Leslie Koch, said it will be the “first building you see when you arrive” by ferry from Manhattan.
