New York 1’s Tara Lynn Wagner talks to developer Larry Silverstein about his massive Silver Towers project, at 600 West 42nd Street. Silverstein said the two rental buildings were designed like condos, with curtain wall facades, an indoor pool and rooftop deck. Silverstein decided to make the towers rentals because in the city “there is never an oversupply” for rentals; they are always in demand. Plus, he added, condos make money in a one-shot deal, while rentals bring in revenue for generations.
