Tonda, a pizzeria, will be coming to the space formerly occupied by E.U., on March 24. The Parks Department released a request for proposals for two new food operations in Central Park, a cafe between West 69th and 70th streets and a food cart at West 72nd Street. The Biltmore Room will reopen next month, this time called the Gates. The owners of V Bar are hoping to open an Italian restaurant on the Bowery. Zuzu Ramen in Park Slope, Deniz in Fort Greene, Anselmo’s Coal-Fired Brick Oven Pizzeria in Red Hook and Lucky Shot Espresso in Greenpoint all opened this week. Also in Brooklyn, Greenpoint coffeehouse Cafe Grumpy will soon be opening another location on Seventh Avenue between 11th and 12th streets. A rug company will be opening on Van Brunt near Bowne Street in Red Hook within a few weeks. Urban Spring closed its vegan cafe at 185 Dekalb Avenue two weeks ago, but Carmella and Marlon Aitcheson will open Breathe Inn Cafe in the same space by the end of the month. Blue, a dress shop on Avenue A between St. Mark’s Place and Ninth Street, has moved to a new space in Nolita. The former Health Conscious Express, at 45 First Avenue between Second Street and Third streets, will become a convenience store. Lobo will close its Cobble Hill location for a month beginning March 23. The methadone clinic at 134 Van Dyke Street in Red Hook has shut down and will be relocating to 561 Court Street. TRD
