Corcoran bites for online note-selling business

Barbara Corcoran is back in fighting condition on the most recent “Shark Tank” episode, after a mellow showing in the last episode, during which the male sharks went after a southern belle with steak demarcation charms and a Midwestern college kid with playdough made for kids with celiac disease. “You’re like little high school boys giggling about the pretty girl!” clucked Corcoran, founder of the Corcoran Group, as the four male sharks vied for a share in the steak charm business. Corcoran was not interested. But in this latest episode, Corcoran went head-to-head with the male sharks, challenging Robert Herjavec and Kevin O’Leary’s bid for an online class note-selling business pitched by two college students. “What just happened there, did we just knock our equity down because of the ‘Bank of Bozo Barbara’?” cried O’Leary, as Corcoran trumped his proposal, offering the budding tycoons $90,000 for a 25 percent stake in the company. In the end, the two entrepreneurs opted to go with Corcoran, feeling that she was more authentic in her dealings.
