Finance exec pays $12M for Blankfein duplex

Investment executive Bryce Markus and his wife Elisabeth purchased the five-bedroom duplex cooperative at 941 Park Avenue from Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein for $12.15 million.

Markus, a senior portfolio manager with BlueMountain Capital Management, a privately owned hedge fund sponsor, closed on the purchase Aug. 16, city records published today show. Markus was not immediately available for comment.

Blankfein accepted an offer for the apartment, which has seven bathrooms and a wood-burning fireplace, in May when it was listed for $13.5 million.

The 16-story building at 81st Street, built in 1927, has 37 apartments.

Blankfein and his wife Lauren own an apartment at 15 Central Park West which was a combination of two units, purchased for $26 million.
