The purses and shoes of Coach may be heading to Hudson Yards. The Post reports that the New York City-based company is looking for a new corporate headquarters as large as 600,000 square feet and has been in “very serious” talks with the Related Companies about the prospect of building a new one from scratch on the 26-acre West Side site. Coach, which is said to have around $1 billion in cash on hand, is currently located at 516 West 34th Street, the 265,000-square-foot building it owns and once used for manufacturing. It also has space at 450 West 33rd Street and another building in the area. Hudson Yards is ultimately slated to have 21 million square feet worth of development, including three corporate headquarters sites, 5,000 apartments, a hotel, public school, cultural facilities, retail and open space. In the past, Related has said that work could begin at Hudson Yards as early as 2012 with a tenant commitment. [Post]
