Behold the 2011 Smart Home, on display through the end of the year at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. This year’s exhibit, which the museum created with technology blog Gizmondo, is decked out with features like energy-efficient heated floors, an Internet-enabled bathroom mirror (so that you can check the news while brushing your teeth, of course), and matching his-and-hers touch bedside lamps that go off and on together even when they’re thousands of miles apart. The home itself, a modular, eco-friendly building designed for a family of three in the backyard of the museum, also has a green roof and mechanical shading system. Click here to take a guided tour.
