Florida condo vows to DNA-test resident dogs’ feces, fine perpetrators

From the South Florida website: In response to incidents of dogs doing their business in elevators and public spaces, dog owners in the Village of Abacoa, a condominium association of 458 units in Jupiter, Fla., must pay a $200 fee Aug. 1st to have DNA Pet World Registry take their canine‚Äôs genetic fingerprint and keep the information on file, according to the Sun Sentinel. From here on in, if an illegal poop is found, it will match a dog and the owner will be fined.
“This is nuts. They will be testing all kinds of poop. Is this America?” said Troy Holloway, who owns one of the condos. [more]
