New Tappan Zee Bridge on fast track due to law

The Infrastructure Investment Act, a New York State law approved by the legislature in December, may fast track government infrastructure projects such as a new $5.2 billion Tappan Zee Bridge, Bloomberg News reported, which has been a priority of Governor Andrew Cuomo for some time.

The law permits the departments of Transportation and Environmental Conservation and the Thruway Authority to contract with a single entity for the design and construction of bridges, roads and dams, Bloomberg said.
