Historic places in New York City will have the opportunity to compete for $3 million in preservation funds, Crain’s reported. A new program funded and administered by American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation will made the announcement at the Museum of Modern Art today, Crain’s said.
Among the 40 sites eligible for the funds, which include grants of up to $250,000 are the Apollo Theater in Harlem, Flushing Town Hall in Queens and Woodlawn Cemetary in the Bronx. The winners will be selected by an online vote, which will run until May 21. [Crain’s]
