It looks as though casino mogul Steve Wynn’s recent purchase of the penthouse of the Ritz-Carlton New York, for $70 million, may have invigorated sales at the building. Another uber-pricey apartment, which appears to belong to Oaktree Capital’s Howard Marks, has just hit the market at the 35-story tower, with an asking price of $50 million, Streeteasy.com shows.

The condominium, which spans the entire 33rd floor, has north and south exposures, one of which spans 92 feet, according to the listing. The two-bedroom, four-bathroom unit also boasts a library, dining room, breakfast room and interior design by Michael Smith — also responsible for the interior design at the White House since 2008.

The library is “inspired” by fashion icon Coco Chanel’s Paris, France apartment, the listing says.

The sellers appear to be Howard and Nancy Marks, who bought #33 in 2007 for $18.88 million, according to city records. Howard Marks is the founder of Oaktree Capital Management, and one of the Forbes 400 wealthiest Americans.

Marks has been involved in a number of headline-grabbing real estate transactions of late. The financial whiz was also the buyer of the most expensive co-op ever, for $52.5 million, at 740 Park Avenue in May.

Roberta Golubock, of Sotheby’s, has the listing.
