Lincoln Center marks end of its $1.2 billion redevelopment project

Lincoln Center has reached the end of its six-year, $1.2 billion redevelopment project, Crain’s reported. A ceremony tonight, marking the project’s completion, will open the President’s Bridge and dedicate a wall in honor of project’s benefactors. Lincoln Center President Reynold Levy told Crain’s that the project was completed on time and under its budget.

The bridge, which serves as an alternative to street crossing, measures 83 feet in Length And Goes Over 65th Street near Amsterdam Avenue. James Gardner, The Real Deal‘s architecture critic, referred to the addition as “the weakest part” of Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s work at Lincoln Center.

During the past six years, Lincoln Center has brought in new green spaces, dining options, signage and amenities as part of the redevelopment. [Crain’s]
