That didn’t take long. Craigslist now has some Hurricane Sandy-related real estate deals on its site, Curbed reported. In more Craigslist-appropriate terms, an entry advertises “SANDY BLOWOUT SPECIAL!” in its headline, offering “Beds, Couches, more 4cheap$$!” on the Upper West Side.

According to the advertisement, the people who live in an apartment at West 73rd Street and Columbus Avenue are moving out today and are selling a whole bunch of stuff. “It’s on the brink of catastrophe that you find the best deals,” the post reads.

But it’s not just furniture. The day before the hurricane made landfall, a Craigslist user advertised a room in a Jersey Shore beach apartment: “$600 close to beach (and sandy).” Also, thanks to the hurricane, a Washington, D.C. one-bedroom unit has “PRICES DROPPING WITH THE TEMPERATURE!” But kind-hearted folks are also taking to the site to advertise spare rooms to those in need of shelter.
