UPDATED, 11 a.m., Feb. 5: Halstead Property will debut a new office in Southampton Village, The Real Deal has learned. Slated to open for business at 31 Main Street this spring, the new location brings Halstead’s tri-state office count to 24 and its agent total to 1,000. The brokerage is aiming to open the storefront space by the end of March, a Halstead spokesperson said.

More than 20 agents — all new hires — will set up shop at the new branch, which is currently undergoing renovations. The office is set to be headed by Nancy Hardy, director of sales at the Southampton office.

“With her strong sales success in the Hamptons and her extensive management experience, [Hardy] was the perfect fit to lead our Southampton office as our director of sales,” said Halstead President Diane Ramirez in a statement.

Halstead renewed its presence in the Hamptons when it acquired Devlin McNiff, a brokerage with one office in East Hampton, in 2011, but planned to open additional locations in the area. This new Southampton office is separate from the McNiff merger, the spokesperson said.

Halstead also has offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Fairfield County, Conn., upstate in the Hudson Valley. The brokerage sought to expand its Hamptons presence with a Southampton office, according to the spokesperson, who said there’s already another Hamptons office located in East Hampton.

“I am thrilled to be the heading up our newest office,” Hardy told The Real Deal. “This prime location is highly visible and gets a lot of foot traffic, so it couldn’t be better to expand Halstead’s Hamptons presence.”

Other city brokerages have also recently expanded on the East End. Nest Seekers International is set to open an office in March in Bridgehampton, led by the Laura Nigro team, previously of Douglas Elliman. The new office will contain 10 to 12 desks.

Over the summer, both Town & Country Real Estate and Sotheby’s International Realty were also in the process of expanding their locations.
