In the latest chapter of his apartment hunting saga, Yankees player Alex Rodriguez was spotted checking out baseball superstar Ichiro Suzuki’s former apartment in the Laurel at 400 East 67th Street this past weekend, the New York Post reported.

Suzuki recently moved out of the four-bedroom, 2,700-square-foot pad, which he rented on the 25th floor of the luxury building, on the corner of First Avenue.

Rodriguez has been looking for a place since he sold his 3,585-square-foot, five-bedroom unit at the Rushmore at 80 Riverside Boulevard for $6.6 million in January 2012, as previously reported.

A source told the Post that, “Alex is in New York full time while he undergoes [injury] rehab. He has looked at a lot of apartments, and Suzuki’s former place is one of them.”

Suzuki, meanwhile, hired Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group in July to help him search for his first apartment in New York, as TRD previously reported.

A-Rod, as he is known, has been on the hunt for a while. Last month, he checked out a rental at 15 Central Park West, where he once rented an apartment, as TRD previously reported. In other Yankees news, Kevin Youkilis is also on the hunt for an apartment, TRD reported in February. [NY Post] –Hayley Kaplan
