Media mogul Ariana Huffington is accused of decimating her $32,000-per-month Chelsea apartment, the Atlantic Wire reported. Her landlord, documentarian Eric Steel, has asked for $275,000 to repair the home and its furnishings.

Huffington allegedly left “bloodied mattresses, gouged wood floors and a very expensive scratched up dining room table,” at the home, according to the Atlantic, citing the lawsuit that Steel has filed against Huffington.

Steel contended one piece of furniture designed by his father, noted architect Charles Gwathmey, is so damaged that it has to be returned to the manufacturer for repairs.

In a statement, Huffington told the Atlantic that Steel is “obviously trying to extort her,” and has already retained a $93,000 deposit. [Atlantic Wire] –Guelda Voien
