A $250M listing? Monaco’s Odeon Tower penthouse may be just that

Price is double the $125 million ask for NYC’s most expensive apartment

Looks like New York City developers might need to step up their game. The builders behind the under-construction Odeon Tower in Monaco, which is set to be the most expensive property per square meter on Earth, could list the penthouse for a staggering $250 million, Curbed noted. This asking price would make it the world’s most expensive apartment on the market.

The 33,000-square-foot unit won’t take shape for over a year, with the whole development set for completion next summer, according to Gizmodo. Still, one design for the home includes a private infinity pool with a water slide, according to CNBC. But Fred Schiff of London-based Knight Frank, who is in charge of global marketing, told CNBC that this is “just one thing the developers are talking about.”

That’s not to say that New York City doesn’t have its own very pricey penthouse listings. For instance, last week brought news of a penthouse at the Pierre Hotel — listed with Elizabeth Sample, Brenda Powers and Serena Boardman of Sotheby’s International Realty — asking a record $125 million.

There was also a $100 million penthouse on the market at City Spire, which is no longer listed. And of course, we all know how much the One57 penthouse traded for last year.

Still, the Odeon hasn’t come without controversy. Nearby residents say they’re concerned that the 49-story structure will act as a large sundial and change the urban landscape. [Curbed] [Gizmodo] [CNBC]Zachary Kussin
