Just a few weeks before being sued for allegedly trashing a swank Chelsea apartment, media maven Arianna Huffington purchased a $8.15 million luxury loft in Soho, the New York Post reported.

The deal for the apartment, located at 158 Mercer Street, closed on Dec. 27, just before the advent of the so-called fiscal cliff. The 4,200-square foot, three-bedroom apartment includes a 50-foot-wide entertainment space with wide-plank floors, a professional-grade kitchen and a master suite.

“Arianna is just finishing decorating the apartment, and she is really happy there,” a source told the Post.
The media mogul purchased the apartment from former Goldman Sachs investment banker Matt L’Heureux, who has moved to California, according to the Post.

Huffington was recently sued for $275,000 by the owners of the Chelsea loft she was renting for $32,000 a month, the Atlantic first reported. According to the lawsuit filed by documentary filmmaker Eric Steel, Huffington allegedly left “bloodied mattresses, gouged wood floors and a very expensive scratched up dining room table,” at the home.
