British luxury developer Nick Candy, best known for his One Hyde Park project in London, has been shopping for a Manhattan trophy apartment, the New York Post reported. Candy has checked out multiple apartments, sources told the Post, including the penthouse at CitySpire on West 56th Street, previously listed for $100 million.

Long Island developer Steven Klar, who owns the 8,000-square-foot, six-bedroom apartment, took it off the market in December, but may still be open to a deal, according to the Post.

This would not be Candy’s first foray into Manhattan real estate shopping. Previously, One57 developer Gary Barnett rebuffed his attempt to buy a unit at the luxury tower with the goal of flipping it.

Candy — whose brother and business partner Christian bought at The Plaza for $25.9 million last year — made headlines recently when he sold a London penthouse at One Hyde Park to Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov for over $200 million. [NYP, 2nd item]Hiten Samtani
