Former Yankees and Mets pitcher David Cone is on the prowl for a new home. The five-time World Series-winner, who is now a television broadcaster on YES Network TV, recently checked out a full-floor apartment at the Charles, an under-construction condominium building with all full-floor, four-bedroom residences on the Upper East Side.

Town Residential handles marketing at the building, located at 1355 First Avenue between East 72nd and East 73rd streets. Cone looked at plans for a 3,137-square-foot apartment on the eighth floor with a 508-square-foot terrace facing the East River, the New York Post reported.

The building was developed by a partnership between Bluerock Real Estate and Victor Homes and designed by Ismael Leyva Architects. Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd also recently checked out plans for a 14th-floor condo there.

Properties at the Charles are asking between $5.82 million, for a 3,637-square-foot third-floor unit,  to a $10.26 million, 3,600-square-foot home on the 27th floor. [NYP]Hiten Samtani
