The daughter of oil tycoon Sid Bass has put her super-secure, four-floor West Village manse on the market for “$35 million or more.”

Hyatt Bass and her husband Josh Klausner, who wrote the screenplay for “Date Night,” never lived in the 7,000-square-foot compound at 335 West 12th Street. Bass plunked down $7.5 million for the property in 2001.

Previous reports on the address say architect Annabelle Selldorf was hired to build it. Selldorf had torn down a one-story commercial structure to build an “armed fortress” for Bass, with enhanced security for her high-profile family, which has been targeted multiple times and even held hostage.

Bass had five camouflaged surveillance cameras installed, the top three floors wrapped in metal and the windows built so they only open to the backyard, as The Real Deal previously reported.

A person who recently toured the property told the New York Post it needs renovation.

“The house has issues,” the source told the Post. “It is so security-oriented that it feels locked-in and weird from the moment you enter. There is no gracious entryway. Nobody will want to live like that.”

Another Selldorf-designed property recently hit the market, a duplex on Central Park West, listed for $12 million in October of last year. [NYP]– Angela Hunt
