A new Thunderbolt roller coaster is only the start of the fun planned for Coney Island’s Luna Park.

Luna Park operator Zamperla is in talks with Jasmine Bullard, late Sodom by the Sea owner Horace Bullard, to plunk a water park down on the former home of the original Thunderbolt roller coaster. The proposed development would stretch across five parcels from Surf Avenue to the Coney Island Boardwalk.

Details on the proposed water park remain vague, according to the paper, but the property comes with rights to build concessions and a grand entryway along the Boardwalk, real estate experts told the paper.

“It can be anything as long as it fits the zoning, and that means amusements or food,” Joe Vitacco, real estate broker and friend to the late Bullard, told the paper. [Brooklyn Paper]Julie Strickland
