NYCHA to drop $19M on Staten Island repairs

The housing authority is currently seeking bids for the project

WEEKENDEDITION The New York City Housing Authority is giving its Mariners Harbor Houses on Staten Island a $19 million upgrade.

NYCHA put out a bid on Thursday to start work on the roofs and exteriors of all 22 buildings in the Mariners Harbor Houses, according to DNAinfo.

The upgrade will repair and replace bricks from the exteriors of the buildings and completely replace the roofs, NYCHA said in a statement.

Work at the buildings is expected to start by the end of the year and completed by 2016. The deadline for the bids to be submitted is May 19. [DNAinfo]Christopher Cameron
