Yankee outfielder slashes price, finds buyer

Carlos Beltran had been asking $5.8M for his North Shore home

WEEKENDEDITION Yankee power-hitter Carlos Beltran has sold his seven-bedroom Long Island home for $4.48 million, after slashing the price by more than $1 million.

The outfielder and former Met listed the 8,800-square-foot Sands Point home for $5.8 million more than a year ago, but eventually chopped the price down to $4.73 million in October, according to the New York Daily News. Beltran paid $4.25 million for the house in 2005.

An anonymous Chinese investor purchased the custom-built North Shore home, which features a private gym, a sports bar and a game room and a pool, the listing broker told the Daily News.

“They had a lot of Mets parties at his home,” said Angela Dooley of Douglas Elliman, who had the listing with Nicholas Colombos. “There are three big screen TVs where they would watch the games.” [NYDN]Christopher Cameron
