Atlantic Yards developer Forest City Ratner has begun tearing down the seven-story, 359,000-square-foot property called 10 Metrotech Center in Brooklyn.

Demolition was expected to begin last year, but there was a $40 million loan in default on the property. Forest City Ratner intends to build an apartment complex on the former candy-factory site at 625 Fulton Street between Hudson Avenue and Rockwell Place.
