UPDATED, 2:35 p.m., May 27: Vickey Barron, the exclusive real estate broker for the Walker Tower in Chelsea, bought her own condominium unit in the building, today’s property records show. Barron bought a single residential unit on the ninth floor for almost $2.29 million, city records indicate.

Barron’s one-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment measures 1,350 square feet, according to PropertyShark, selling for $1,697 per square foot. The sale is the cheapest to date at Walker Tower. A 1,730 square foot unit on the same floor was sold to Florida-based Jha Holdings LLC for $4.07 million in March of this year, at $2,354 per square foot, according to PropertyShark.

Neither Barron nor a Douglas Elliman spokesperson for Walker Tower were immediately available to comment.

Barron will be sharing the building at 212 West 18th Street with Hollywood superstars, including Cameron Diaz, who reportedly bought a 3,022-square-foot three-bedroom unit at the building in December 2013. Harrison Ford, Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman also reportedly bought units in the building, and cosmetics line owner Laura Mercier purchased a unit on the 16th floor late last year for $5.9 million.

Walker Tower’s Penthouse One sold for $50.9 million earlier this year to Hakkasan CEO Neil Moffitt, setting a residential Downtown sales record. Property Markets Group head Kevin Maloney picked up an $11.4 million three-bedroom pad in March, and two penthouse units spanning the entire 22nd floor sold to an unknown European buyer earlier this month for $30.8 million.

Penthouse Two is the only unit in the building that’s still on the market for an asking price of $47.5 million, a spokesperson for Walker Tower told The Real Deal, while the Douglas Elliman website still lists six available properties in the building.

Barron initially handled sales and marketing for the building on behalf of CORE, but JDS Development and Property Markets Group jumped agencies and tapped Douglas Elliman as the property’s exclusive marketer following Barron’s move to Elliman in May 2013.

Walker Tower, built in 1929 and designed by Ralph Walker, houses 47 luxury condominiums in total.
