Former top Cuomo aide joins firm that renovates airports

Howard Glaser, who resigned last month as director of state operations and senior policy adviser to Governor Andrew Cuomo, has taken a job with OTG Management, a firm in charge of renovating airport terminals.

“From a real estate point of view, the airport is one of the last frontiers of underdeveloped real estate,” Glaser told Crain’s.

At first, Glaser will oversee project management and business development in the U.S. and internationally. OTG Management, based at 352 Park Avenue South in the Flatiron District, has performed renovation projects at LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy airports.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is slated to pick a development team to head up a $2.4 billion upgrade at LaGuardia later this month, according to Crain’s.

Glaser spearheaded the deal to redevelop the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed on 9/11. Before the start of Cuomo’s term in 2011, Glaser served as general counsel for the U.S. Mortgage Bankers Association, as well as counselor to the secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
