WEEKENDEDITION Before Williamsburg was overrun by hipsters, gentrified and, most recently, invaded by finance bros, it was a quiet, working-class neighborhood. In fact, based on archival images of Williamsburg in the 1940s via Curbed, the North Brooklyn nabe seems better suited for a Jimmy Stewart movie, than a hip bastion of septum piercings and bulldogs.
